Creative Haven Fanciful Faces Coloring Book (Creative Haven Coloring Books)
Number of designs: 31
As I said in Miyam Adatto’s interview, finding coloring books that stand out with a unique style is always refreshing. Miryam’s illustrations have a flowing, swirling style that is all her own. I have to admit, I’m a big fan of her work, which makes it hard to be objective in this review! But I’ll do my best.
The designs in fanciful faces range from pages with a single face surrounded by abstract and nature-themed designs to pages with multiple faces and figures. Miryam has a fondness for nature, which is reflected in the vines, flowers, seashells, and other shapes used in her art. In some cases, it’s fairly easy to discern the pattern, but in many of the designs, colorists will need to concentrate to figure out how all the elements intertwine and flow around each other.
